Many people ‘play safe’ with paints and often don’t realise they can do so much more! This workshop is aimed at those who want to get to know more about the possibilities of oil paints. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
You will work though a series of practical and enjoyable exercises which will help you understand the characteristics of oil paint and how it behaves including;
- Using the correct surfaces and mediums
- How to control the thickness and dilution of your paint
- Using different brushes and tools to make marks
- Controlling fine detail in your work
- Painting with large, bold gestures
- Layering and erasing
